When I go mountain biking I want to know my bike is safe and comfortable to ride. I want to know I won’t be flung over the handlebars, and I want to know the front wheel won’t catastrophically wash out in a turn. I want to know the bike won’t hurt my hands or shoulders or lower back. I want to know the bike is made to help my feel great and ride my best.
As a professional mountain bike skills instructor I work hard on my physical fitness and riding skills, but let’s face it: A smartly designed bike makes riding way easier. The GoodOnYa comes from my work doing fits and teaching skills to more than 10,000 riders over more than 20 years. I know what the industry is trying to sell to riders, and I know better than anyone what real riders actually need.
The GoodOnYa is designed first to be safe and comfortable to ride. That provides confidence. When I feel confident I can ride as fast as I want on any terrain I want. This bike rides so well I raced it at masters downhill worlds! It was the only trail bike in a field of downhill bikes, and it took 9th. Best of all, it was so fun.
I loved Australia so much that I named this bike after the encouraging expression “Good on ya.”
The Mistress is your go-to trail bike. Carve loamy berms, smash sandstone steps and boost mega jumps. This bike corners like a dream. It stays composed in the chunk. And it inscribes rainbows of shred through the sky. Maybe best of all, it fits you just right, and that feels great.
Have fun out there,
Lee

Key stats:
- 5 sizes perfectly fit riders 4’10” to 6’8″. If you want something different, select Custom in the size menu.
- Stock wheel size is 29 inches in sizes M3-M5 and 27.5 inches in M1 and M2. If you want something different, select Custom in the size menu.
- Head angle is 66 degrees with a 160mm fork.
- Seat tube angle is 74 degrees.
- Front end is RAD neutral with about a 60-degree RAD angle.
- Chainstays are nice and juicy to balance you between the wheels.
- Head tube is 44mm for maximum compatibility.
- Bottom bracket is 73mm threaded for ease of use.
- Works great with a 160 or 180mm fork. The 180mm fork slackens the bike by about one degree.
- Shock is 210mm eye to eye. 55mm stroke yields 160mm of rear travel. 50mm stroke yields 145mm. You can also increase pressure to reduce travel.
- I rode this bike at DH worlds in 180/160mm mode. For lesser trails, 160/145 feels great. Two forks and two shock pressure settings gives you two bikes.
- Dropouts are SRAM UDH so they’re future proof. Until they make a new standard.
- Depending on frame size, we provide water bottle/tool mounts inside the front triangle, under the down tube and on top of the top tube.
- Hand made with premium Reynolds 520 tubing by an experienced, proven fabricator.
What do riders say?
Everyone who rides the GoodOnYa says two things:
- Wow, this thing corners!
- I feel like I’m in the bike.
That’s the Warm Embrace Geometry. People who know me also say, “Lee everything you say sounds crazy but dangit, you are right again.”
This bike just works. I’m watching my Strava times get faster and faster, most importantly the bike feels great. That’s why I’m offering it to the world.
Warm Embrace Geometry
The GoodOnYa is the only trail bike on the market that’s designed specifically to prevent the most common injury crashes:
- Over the handlebars. The relatively short reaches and tall stacks provide a RAD neutral fit with a high RAD angle. This gives you great comfort in the saddle, plus optimal range of motion for cornering, braking, descending, pumping, dropping, hopping, jumping and all the fun stuff. You forget the bike is there, and you simply enjoy the ride.
- Washing out in turns. The Mistress balances your weight very close to the middle of the bike. Compared with mainstream trail bikes, The Mistress puts 10-30 percent more weight on the front tire. This makes cornering insanely easy and confidence inspiring — the front tire just doesn’t want to wash out like on a regular bike.
RAD fit. Rider Area Distance (RAD) is the imaginary line from your bike’s bottom bracket to the centerpoint of the grips. You use this lever to maintain balance on your feet and to make the bike do cool things like turn, hop and jump. Mistress RADs are designed to fit your body size and proportions. They create comfy seated pedaling, chain-snapping peak power and flowy shredding.
Namastays. The GoodOnYa doesn’t have chainstays. Naw, these are too long and too sweet. We call ’em Namastays. Namastays increase front tire traction and make the bike feel quieter in bumps.
Slack in Back. Mistress seat angles are traditionally slack at 74 degrees. Most bikes that are designed to be pedaled well share this seat angle. The slacker seat angle relieves knee pain, access more booty power and gives you a more open, roomy cockpit when you’re pedaling in the saddle.
Sizing and geometry
The GoodOnYa is designed to perfectly fit riders from 4’10” to 6’8″.
Below is our stock geometry and sizing. This creates bike that’s comfortable in the saddle and handles great out of the saddle. These reaches are shorter than mainstream performance mountain bikes, but they are logically proven to work better for the vast majority of riders.
Each frame includes a personal fit consultation. After you purchase your frame, you’ll receive an email with directions to send me information about your body and riding style. I’ll send you a specific suggestion for your handlebar, stem, spacers, crank length and saddle height. No more guessing!
Are you between sizes? If you want to optimize comfort and handling everywhere, choose the smaller size. If you prefer a longer seated pedaling position or you want to blast non-technical trails in a straight line, choose the longer size. Not sure? Get the smaller size.
Do you want custom geometry? Maybe you’re extra small or extra large or you have unusual proportions or you want something different in terms of travel, sizing, geometry or wheel size. We can make you just about any kind of acoustic bike you want. In the Size menu, select Custom. After your purchase you’ll receive an email with directions to send me information about you, then I’ll start working with you on your dream frame. Custom geometry adds $500 to the price of your frame.

Each frame purchase includes:
A personalized fit consultation. If you buy a stock size, Lee will tell you exactly which handlebar, stem and spacers will make your bike fit perfectly. Your days of guessing and buying random parts are over. Value $149-$199.
Two hours of instruction. Yep! Even a perfect bike works better when you work better. Mistress bikes work great no matter your riding style, but they really sing when you use Lee’s RideLogic riding style. You get 2 hours with Lee in person (you gotta go to him) or on Zoom. Value $200-$460.

My new personal GoodOnYa has external cable routing and a tool mount on the top tube. Your water bottle mounts will go wherever you want (and where they fit). DVO shock shown for fit.
Dave built his size M2 GoodOnYa with some proper Pacific North Wet fenders. The shop who built it DMed us to tell us how good the suspension feels with the ROckShox Super Deluxe shock. The frame is designed with a nice progression.
Coda is 6’4″ tall. His bars have always been way too low, even with tall risers and all the spacers under the steerer. This M5 GoodOnYa is perfect. He says the ride “doesn’t feel like any other bike I’ve ridden. … Feels really stable puling tight, slow corners. … The cornering is really interesting — feels like I can lean the bike waaaay over without feeling like I’m going to fall into the turn, which is something I’ve been struggling with. … Final weight is 37.24 lbs — great for a giant-ass steel bike.”

As Lee from Mistress Cycles and Lee Likes Bikes, I know I have a vested interest, but I gotta say this:
These bikes ride so well it’s insane. The front of the bike is nimble and easy to manage. The back of the bike adds stability without compromising handling. The bike rides like it has more travel than it does, and it corners like crazy!!!
